The GOLFJOY
Advantage.Decoded.

Ten ways to build a GOLFJOY bay — from a battery-powered monitor that lives in your golf bag to a weatherproof outdoor kiosk and a commercial overhead suite with a putting green that physically moves. This page shows you exactly what separates them, who each one is built for, and how Murphy Golf turns the one you pick into a finished room.

Why GOLFJOY

Precision, graphics, and one connected ecosystem.

Most launch monitors sell you a number. GOLFJOY sells a complete indoor golf platform: camera-based tracking, 4K course rendering, mobile apps, third-party software freedom, and — on compatible suites — a putting surface that physically changes shape.

Camera-based precision

Dual or triple high-speed cameras, an onboard AI chip, and LED-assisted imaging read the ball and the clubhead — not an estimate derived from ball flight alone.

  • 27 to 42 measured parameters by model
  • Clubhead and impact video playback
  • Reads any ball, including pure white
  • Up to 6 Gb/s data transmission on flagship units

Graphics that hold a room

GOLFJOY software renders courses in Unreal Engine at Ultra 4K, with live weather, wind, time of day, and ball interaction with water, rough, and trees.

  • Ultra 4K, Unreal-Engine course rendering
  • Adjustable weather, wind, and time of day
  • Training modes, mini games, tournaments
  • Online head-to-head play with voice and video

One ecosystem, not four vendors

Monitor, software, mobile apps, putting hardware, and third-party platforms are designed to run as a single system — and Murphy Golf integrates it into the room.

  • GOLFJOY Pro and GOLFJOY Space apps
  • GSPro, E6 and Creative Golf on listed models
  • Smart putting on compatible suites
  • Ontario-based design, install, and support
Recommendation engine

Which GOLFJOY belongs in your space?

Answer three questions. The engine weighs mounting format, data depth, portability, and commercial capability the same way our sales team does on a site visit.

Recommended

Make three selections

The engine will name a primary system, explain the reasoning, and flag a sensible alternative to price against it.

Every recommendation is a starting point — final selection depends on ceiling height, room depth, and whether left- and right-handed players share the bay.

The lineup

Seven monitors, a driving-range kiosk, one commercial suite, and packaged rooms.

Specifications below are as published by GOLFJOY for each model. Where a figure is not published for a given model, we mark it confirm at quote rather than guess. Prices shown are current CAD pricing on the Murphy Golf Canada store and may change without notice — the store's live price governs at checkout.

Specifications reflect GOLFJOY's published product pages at time of writing and can change by production revision or region. Murphy Golf confirms the exact specification of the Canadian SKU in every written quotation. PC requirement for GOLFJOY software: Windows 10 64-bit or newer, Intel i5-10600 class or better, 16 GB RAM minimum, RTX 3050-class GPU for 2K or RTX 3070-class for 4K — AMD GPUs are not supported.

How GOLFJOY stacks up

GOLFJOY next to the launch monitors you're already comparing it to.

Specifications and prices below are as published by each manufacturer on their own product pages at time of writing. List prices shown for competitor products are that brand's own published price (typically USD, direct-from-manufacturer) — not a Murphy Golf or GOLFJOY price — and are shown for reference only since pricing, currency, and promotions change frequently. Confirm any figure against the manufacturer's current listing before quoting a customer.

GOLFJOY's camera-based monitors and radar-based systems use different sensing principles, so figures are not directly interchangeable — camera systems typically report more granular clubhead data, while radar systems are often chosen for outdoor durability and simpler setup. GOLFJOY 3D Stance Mat physically tilting to recreate a sloped fairway lie in front of the simulator screen
The differentiator

Feel the break — not just the graphic.

Almost every simulator puts a flat mat under a sloped rendering and asks you to believe it. On compatible GOLFJOY suites, a 3D moving mat uses eleven power devices to physically reshape the putting surface itself — not just the screen — recreating green undulation across roughly four yards and engaging automatically as the ball comes near the green. GOLFJOY positions it as the only system built to let a putt actually roll into a physical hole rather than a simulated one.

  • 3D moving mat: eleven power devices reshape real terrain, not a rendered slope
  • 200+ short-putt scenarios across three cup-distance groups at 1:1 scale
  • Three play modes — Custom, Random, and Sequential — plus chipping training
  • Automatic activation inside four yards of the green
  • Included with the commercial overhead suite; a compatible-system feature on Rigel models — never assume it, always confirm it in the quote
The ecosystem

Eleven parts that behave like one product.

Launch monitor

Camera-based capture of ball, club, and trajectory with onboard AI processing.

Impact playback

High-frame video of clubhead position and contact — the fastest way to explain a miss.

GOLFJOY AI Coach on-screen swing analysis overlay showing club path, face angle, and 3D shot-data graphics behind a golfer

AI swing analysis

Onboard AI reviews swing and shot data in real time, renders 3D club-path and face-angle graphics on screen, and builds personalized training feedback — featured on the GDA21 range kiosk and reflected across GOLFJOY's camera-based monitors.

GOLFJOY software

Ultra 4K Unreal-Engine courses, training modes, mini games, tournaments, online play.

GOLFJOY Pro app

Courses, practice tools, and real-time online play with live voice and video.

GOLFJOY Space

Practice-data review and, in supported settings, facility or bay reservations.

Third-party platforms

GSPro, E6, and Creative Golf on listed models — your course library, your choice.

GOLFJOY 3D moving mat physically tilted to reproduce a sloped lie, shown beneath the simulator screen

Smart putting — 3D moving mat

Eleven power devices physically reshape green contours on compatible suites, rather than rendering slope on a flat surface.

GOLFJOY Motion Mat pressure-sensing swing mat set up on a driving-range bay

Motion Mat — pressure & balance sensing

A 2,205-sensor foldable pad tracks center of pressure, stance width, and vertical force through the swing, giving real-time balance and stability feedback. Optional add-on, confirmed at quote.

Golf ball automatically re-teed on a GOLFJOY hitting surface

Auto tee-up

Automatic ball-hit sensing re-tees the next ball with no manual retrieval — smooth, low-noise operation built for both home and commercial traffic. Pressure-plate sensing specifics are confirmed at quote.

Projection & enclosure

Throw distance, brightness, screen ratio, framing, and impact surface engineered together.

Murphy Golf integration

Design, supply, install, calibration, training, and Canadian support after handover.

Beyond the box

A launch monitor is roughly a third of a great bay.

The tracking hardware decides your data. The room decides whether people want to spend two hours in it. We quote both.

Room geometry

Finished ceiling, width, depth, tee position, and clearance for both handedness — verified on site before anything is ordered.

Projection

Throw, brightness, lens shift, and screen ratio calculated to your exact wall, not a generic recommendation.

Structure & surfaces

Ceiling reinforcement for overhead mounting, enclosure framing, impact screen, hitting surface, and flooring.

Power & network

Separated strong- and weak-current runs, dedicated Ethernet to the monitor, PC ventilation and service access.

01

Consultation

Use case, players, budget envelope, and the space you actually have.

02

Design

Layout, monitor selection, projection maths, and a written scope of work.

03

Installation

Mounting, cabling, calibration, and software activation by our own crew.

04

Handover

Commissioning checklist, player training, and Canadian support afterwards.

For business

Selling GOLFJOY, or filling bays with it?

There is a second version of this page written for the business side: dealer and reseller structure, segment-by-segment fit for hotels, clubs, ranges and condos, a bay-utilisation model you can run with your own numbers, and what Murphy Golf supplies behind you as the Ontario distributor.

Commercial golf simulator bays in a business venue
Straight answers

Questions we get every week.

Do I need a subscription?

The hardware does not require a mandatory subscription — GOLFJOY states this for Spica 3, for example. Virtual courses and games are a different matter: they run on GOLFJOY's own software platform or a third-party licence such as E6 Connect or GSPro, and those are purchased separately. We list software and licence terms as their own line in every quote so nothing is a surprise in year two.

Portable or overhead — which should I actually buy?

If the monitor will ever leave the room, buy portable: Spica 3 or GDS Pro. If the room is dedicated, buy overhead. An overhead unit removes hardware from beside the ball, keeps the floor clean, and makes a bay feel finished — and Rigel Lite 2 publishes a wide detection range with one-piece magnetic installation, which suits most Ontario basements.

How many data points do I really need?

Ball data drives simulation. Club data drives improvement and fitting. Every GOLFJOY model tracks 27 or more parameters, so the real question is whether you need dynamic club delivery detail and impact playback. For coaching and fitting, go to Rigel 3 or Rigel 3 Pro. For family golf and league nights, 27 to 29 is plenty.

What PC do I need?

GOLFJOY software calls for Windows 10 64-bit or newer, an Intel i5-10600 class CPU or better, at least 16 GB RAM, an RTX 3050-class GPU for 2K and an RTX 3070-class GPU for 4K. AMD GPUs are not supported. We spec the PC to the resolution you actually intend to run.

Is the smart putting green included?

It is part of the commercial overhead suite, and a compatible-system feature elsewhere. Never assume it is in a package — if you want it, it appears explicitly on your quotation with the cup groups and platform configuration listed.

Can I use GSPro or E6 instead of GOLFJOY software?

GOLFJOY lists GSPro, E6, and Creative Golf compatibility for GDS Pro and Rigel 3 Pro, and GSPro plus E6 for Spica 3. For other Rigel models we confirm current compatibility in writing before you commit, rather than repeating a claim that may apply to a different SKU.

Where does Murphy Golf install?

We are the authorised GOLFJOY distributor for Ontario and install across the province, with residential rooms, teaching studios, and multi-bay commercial facilities all in scope. Site conditions determine scheduling, structural work, and any trades we coordinate on your behalf.

What is the GDA21, and is it weatherproof enough to leave outdoors?

The GDA21 is GOLFJOY's standalone driving-range kiosk: a built-in Spica 3 triple-camera launch monitor paired with a 21.5-inch outdoor touchscreen, rated IP65 for dust and short-term water resistance across an operating range of –10°C to 45°C. GOLFJOY also markets protective covers for the screen and launch-monitor housing for off-hours or severe weather. We confirm the exact cover mechanism and current production revision against your written quotation before installation.

How wide is the actual hitting area on an overhead monitor?

It varies by model: Rigel 2 Lite publishes a 40 × 30 cm zone, Rigel 2 publishes 40 × 40 cm, and Rigel 3 and Rigel 3 Pro publish 60 × 60 cm, all confirmed against GOLFJOY's current 2026 product catalog. Rigel Lite 2 does not yet have its own published hitting-zone figure, so we reference GOLFJOY's original Rigel Lite leaflet (40 × 30 cm, up to 450 yards of flight detection) as a guide and confirm the exact current-production figure at quote.
